Kaua‘i Police Department investigators are still seeking leads, and the public’s assistance, for information regarding the fire that destroyed the Kapa‘a Pop Warner storage shed and football equipment contained inside.
On Aug. 5, at about 1:49 a.m., an unknown person or persons set the Kapa‘a New Park storage building on fire that contained new equipment for the Pop Warner Association. Estimated damages to the building are approximately $10,000, and approximately $15,000 to the football equipment.
The KPD investigation indicates that there may have been vehicles in the vicinity of the park prior to the fire starting, and that vehicle occupants may have witnessed the fire, or may have seen who set it.
Anyone with information may call the Crime Stoppers Hotline, 241-1887, and may give information anonymously. The Crime Stoppers program sometimes pays cash rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of perpetrators of crimes.
