Former Kaua‘i High School volleyball standout Kehau Regidor is putting in a stellar performance for Mesa State College in Colorado.
The Mavericks are 9-5 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and have won 9 of their last 10 games. Mesa State also sits atop the conference’s west division at the midpoint of the season.
Regidor, a Kalaheo native, played in 21 games her freshman year as a defensive specialist. She recorded 76 digs and nine service aces.
This year, Regidor is third on the team in serving, averaging .22 aces per game. She is also fifth on the team in digs, with 2.2 digs a game.
While at Kaua‘i High School, Regidor was a four-year letter winner in volleyball and helped the Red Raiders to their first KIF title in school history, with back-to-back titles. The team also placed fifth in the state tournament her senior year.
The Maverick sophomore was a four-year varsity player in basketball, three-year varsity soccer player, and an honor roll student throughout her high school career, as she graduated with Cum Laude honors. At Mesa State, Kehau remains undecided about a major.
Regidor chose Mesa State for its unique environment and fine volleyball program. Kehau is the daughter of Myra and Victor Regidor.
