Leon Duhayulongsod, Sr.
Leon Duhaylongsod, Sr. of Kapa‘a, died Sept. 13, 2004, at Garden Island Health Care at the age of 84.
Born April 11, 1920, in the Philippines, he worked in seed treatment for McBryde Sugar.
Preceded in death by two sons, Leon Duhaylongsod, Jr. and Lawrence Duhaylongsod, he is survived by his wife: Fannie Duhaylongsod of Kapa‘a; five children: Mercedes (Richard) Duhaylongsod-Howards of Connecticut, Mary Ann Malia (Scott) Duhaylongsod-Chatterley of Kapa‘a; Rhoda Duhaylongsod of Wailua, Dorean Duhaylongsod of Puhi and Lelene (Jim) Duhaylongsod-Copps of Nevada;; one sister: Dorothy Balocan Furtado of California; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Saturday, Sept. 18, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.. Services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
