So, by the time you read this, I’ll be out and about with Iniki (the Jogger dog), George and Donna Schulze, Cathy Shanks, and this year, Taren Fujimoto at the American Heartwalk. Kudos to coach Rich Roberts and the Kaua‘i

Kudos to coach Rich Roberts and the Kaua‘i High School volleyball boosters for doing such a bang up job with the Kaua‘i Challenge! Clesson Lee was on hand for two days straight – he said it’s the varsity supporting! Ross Shimabukuro was out on day one, and took time out for the Richard Kawakami Memorial Golf tournament, but v-ball was on his mind! You also know that KIF is right around the corner when Manny Henriques is out with the cameras, and even got to chat with Sam Henriques on day two. Keith Burgess is going full bore what with Red Raider football camp taking place the same time as the Challenge, and even got a glimpse of coach Michael Tresler checking out the action inside the gym.
Hats off to the Mokihana Aquatics crew and Coach “O” Anaya for the great Mokihana Swim Meet – Harold Naumu (he was one of the voices of the Meet) is ready for the KIF! Steven Fujii and John Ochoco have an abundance of energy as they volunteered at the Meet right on the heels of the state senior softball tourney – John said the East Kaua‘i guys are thrilled at being champions! Mia Ako has been going crazy, what with two tours through the KCC Technology Center – Senator Inouye on Tuesday followed by the high school girls and their parents on Thursday! Son Brevin was having a ball with Vance Tokita at the Warabi Ashibi learning how to make noodles. Val and Derwin Kaneshiro were on hand doing different kinds of popo at that event where Mamo Kaneshiro had all (!!!) the ‘ohana on hand as did Gary Ueunten.
