Mary Liilii Rumion Sa
Mary Liilii Rumion Sa of Hanama‘ulu, died Aug. 5, 2004, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 80.
A nurses’ aide at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, she was born May 15, 1924, in Kapa‘a.
Preceded in death by husband Frank Sa Sr., son Stanley Sa, sister Germina Quereto and brothers Albert Rumion Jr. and George Waialeale Rumion, she is survived by one son, Frank (Georgia) Sa Jr. of Arizona; three daughters: Georgette Carineo of Hanama‘ulu, Diane (Paul) Manoi of Kekaha and Carol Manoi of Kalaheo; one daughter-in-law, Helen Sa, of Anahola; three sisters: Beatrice Billedo of Kapa‘a, Connie Carvalho of Lihu‘e, Louise Young of Ohio; two brothers: Manuel Rumion of California and Robert Rumion of Nevada; 23 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 10, at Lihu‘e Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Viewing will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Richard Masao Sako
Richard Masao Sako of Kalaheo died at home on July 6, 2004 at the age of 80.
Born in Wainiha, Kaua‘i on June 29, 1924, he was a civil servant in Japan with the United States armed forces.
Preceded in death by his wife, Misayo Saito Sako in 1982, he is survived by daughter, Audrey Emi Sako (Eric R.) Anderson of Hayama, Japan; brother, George Morito Sato of ‘Ele‘ele; sister, Elizabeth Michie Hirano of La Palma, Calif.
Memorial service officiated by Pastor Mary Lindquist will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in ‘Ele‘ele. Aloha attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
