The Master’s Nightclub opens Friday, Aug. 6, with two rooms of music and some island-style live music you can dance to.
Ohana Productions, in conjunction with Budweiser and True Music, are presenting The Master’s Nightclub at The Terrace Restaurant at Kauai Lagoons.
The nightclub will feature two rooms of music, one with a variety of DJs playing Top 40 and R&B dance music, and the other featuring a rotating schedule of Kaua‘i’s favorite live-music artists.
There will be live music every Friday night. Some artists to look forward to include Revival, Papa‘a Bay Boys and Sashamon.
“It’s time for a new place. Or, in this case, an old new place,” says Noah Evslin, owner of Ohana Productions and part of the team that opened the Kuhio Lounge nightclub, which is still open Friday nights at the Aloha Beach Resort.
This time around for Ohana Productions, it’s the site of the nightclub once called “The Master’s Club presents the Future” (or ‘Future’ for short).
“The Future died for a variety of reasons, nothing having to do with the venue, which is still one of the best on the island,” Evslin said by e-mail this week.
“We’re coming in this time with a lot of weight behind us: $40,000 in sound equipment, two rooms of music, an established production company, a record label, a global sponsor. We can only cross our fingers and hope this works.” “This is a small island, and (people) get bored quickly so they want to try something new,” said Tino Hernandez, a restaurant manager at the Terrace and Wahoo’s Seafood Grill and Bar. Hernandez said promoters conducted an informal survey a few months ago, and respondents said they were interested in having more nightclub choices on the island.
“People asked for the Future to come back,” Hernandez said.
“We’re very excited. People now not only have a choice of venues, but they also have a choice in what kind of music they want to listen to while out at the club,” said Courtney Clarke, resident DJ and The Master’s Nightclub promoter.
Other regular DJs are Francis and Noah.
The dress code is casual, with shirt and shoes required. Cover charge for opening night is $10, and this event is open to those 21 and over with valid identification. The Master’s Nightclub is open every Friday night from 10 p.m.
