With the action smoldering on the westside, the diamond seems to be the place to be, especially at Kalawai Park today as the WKYBL‘s playoffs continue with the action starting at 9:00 a.m. In the mustang division, the Waimea Blue Jays face the Hanapepe Cubs in a loser-out game. Then, it’s the Koloa Athletics versus the Kalawai Yankees in another loser-out contest. The big game featuring the divisions two top teams takes center stage at 1:30 p.m., with the number-one-seeded Kalawai Cardinals taking on the number-two-seeded Kekaha Angels. In their last meeting, the game came down to timely hitting and good defense as the Cards edged the Angels, 10-6 at Hanapepe Ballpark. The winner of this game makes into the championships.
The bronco division pits the Kalawai Yankees against the Waimea Blue Jays in the loser-out early game.
