William Yadao
William “Uncle Willy” Julian Leandro Yadao of Kilauea died April 21, 2004, at his home at the age of 70. Born Feb. 20, 1934, he worked for the County of Kauai Parks and Recreation Department on the North Shore. He was an avid cowboy, fisherman, hunter, farmer and also served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean war.
Preceded in death by his parents, Leandio and Helen Yadao and brother Stanley Yadao, he is survived by his wife: Carletta Yadao of Kilauea; three daughters: Yvonne (William) McKeown, Donna Yasay and Deeann (Nolan) Rapozo; two sons: Leland Yadao and Llewellyn
Yadao; two brothers: Stanwick (Marie) Yadao of Hanama‘ulu and Wesley (Karen) Yadao of Waimea; five sisters: Becky Kualu of Kekaha, Agnes Mahinai of Anahola, Bernice Ragragola of Waimea, Grace Hislop of California, and Evelyn (Waleriano) Olores of Kekaha; 19 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held at noon on Sunday, April 25, at Black Pot Beach in Hanalei. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Maria Cadiz
Maria Fernandez Cadiz of Kapa‘a, died at Wilcox Hospital on April 17, 2004, at the age of 99. Born March 22, 1905, in the Philippines, she is survived by two daughters: Ofelia (Alfredo) Manibog of Lihu‘e and Mayrose Cadiz of Kapa‘a; grandchild Romy (Ester) Dacuycuy); two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services have been scheduled for Saturday, April 24, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Kapa‘a. Visitation starts at 8 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
Generoso Rosqueta
Generoso “Osong” Rosqueta of Hanama‘ulu, died April 8, 2004, at his home, at the age of 65. Born Aug. 26, 1938, in the Philippines, he was an irrigator. He is survived by his wife: Reydelina Rosqueta of Hanama‘ulu; one daughter: Rachel Rosqueta of Hanama‘ulu; two sisters: Edna Soliven of the Philippines and Lucena Nacnac of Hanapepe; mother- and fatherin- law, Priscilla and Faustino Andres of Koloa; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, April 24, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Father Bill. Burial to follow at Lihue Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
David Sasaki
David Kanji Sasaki of Lihu‘e died April 17, 2004, at his home at the age of 74.
A jet mechanic inspector with the United States Armed Forces, he was also a veteran in the United States Army. He is survived by two daughters: Shirley Tani of Kaua‘i and Alice (Darryl) Sasaki-Tamamoto of Kaua‘i; one sister: Hanako Matsuo of Japan; and two granddaughters: Deirdre (Robert) Takamiya of Mililani, O‘ahu and Rochayne Tani of Kaua‘i.
Services have been scheduled for Monday, May 3, at the Lihue Hongwanji Church. Visitation starts at 4:30 p.m. Services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Inurnment will be on Saturday, May 8, at the Honolulu Memorial Gardens at 10 a.m. Refreshmentrs will be served at the Hongwanji Church on the Pali Highway.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
Loran Earl Booth
Loran Earl Booth of ‘Ele‘ele, died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on Apr. 20, 2004 at the age of 86. Born in Plain City, Utah on Mar. 10, 1918, he was a rescue fireman with Los Angeles Fire Dept. & Rescue. He is survived by son, Greg Tebo (Carolina Pablo) Booth of Hanapepe, formerly of Mt. Shasta, CA.; three grandchildren, Dominque Makaleha Booth, Christopher Kehau Booth and Jennifer Wailana Booth, all of Hanapepe; brother, Gilbert Booth of Arizona; many friends of the National Ski Patrol and Olympic Ski Patrol. Funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 27, at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery Pavilion in Hanapepe, inurnment to follow. Aloha attire is suggested. Funeral service will also be held at Bend, Oregon at a later date.

Born Nov. 7, 1956, in Los Angeles, Calif., he was a property manager. He is survived by his mother Cookie (Auroara) and father Virgil Samiano of Claremont, Calif.; sister Jackie, nephew Jacob and niece Katie of Sam Dimas, Calif.; and his partner Bryan. A private Rosary will be held later.

Clementina Silva Garcia of Kapahi, died April 21, 2004, at Kauai Care Center at the age of 92. She was born March 30, 1912, in Kealia, Kaua‘i. She is survived by one son: John (Eleanor) Garcia of Kapa‘a; one daughter: Mildred “Millie” Ah-
Hee of Lihu‘e; one brother: Alfred “Freddie” Silva of Kapa‘a and three sisters: Virginia Rosa of Kapahi, Emily Rapozo of Kapahi and Josephine Chansky of Kapa‘a; 19 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
