KAPA‘A — Chevron gas station is set to open in mid-June in front of the Hale Kauai store on Kawaihau Road.
The digging of a ditch for the station’s underground gasoline tank has been completed, and the tank was delivered to the Kawaihau location on Thursday morning.
Geri Gallagher, spokeswoman for Hale Kauai, said construction on the station’s site is underway, and work is expected to be completed by mid-June.
The gas station is located in one of Kaua‘i’s most densely populated districts, and will allow residents of the Kapahi area to avoid a miles-long drive to Kuhio Highway to buy gas.
