While soccer teams from around the state were focusing on trying to get to the top of their respective age brackets at the American Youth Soccer Organization’s (AYSO) 21st Annual Kirk Banks Soccer Tournament which was held at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Park, one team mom was nominated by her players to receive the honor of being the Ultimate Soccer Mom.
When the dust had settled at the “Mom-ination Station,” Kaua‘i’s Criselda Yotsuda emerged as the state’s No.1 soccer mom by the judges from “got milk?” and Meadow Gold Dairies Hawai‘i.
Yotsuda, as part of her earnings for being the top soccer mom in the state, will receive a year’s supply of milk and ice cream from Meadow Gold Dairies Hawai‘i, a special prize package from “got milk?,” and a photo shoot where she will be featured in a Meadow Gold advertisement.
“Parents play an extremely important role in developing their children’s life habits, which include nutrition and exercise,” said Glenn Muranaka, president and general manager of Meadow Gold Dairies Hawai‘i. “We’re thrilled to be working with the AYSO and the “got milk?” campaign to recognize those who set great examples and participate actively in their children’s lives.”
The “Mom-ination Station” featured a place where children were able to record a two-minute video nomination explaining why they think their mom deserves to be dubbed the Ultimate Soccer Mom.
In addition to the “Mom-ination Station,” the Kirk Banks Soccer Tournament showcased live soccer action featuring thousands of local children from around the state, a Milk Mustache Photo Booth where keiki (and adults) could don their own milk mustaches and have a souvenir photo taken.
The “got milk?” Get Skills! Upper 90 Challenge allowed children of all ages to test their soccer skills, and a Meadow Gold Dairies Hawai‘i tasting station featured flavors of milk and other beverages such as chocolate, strawberry, and peaches ‘n cream milk, white milk (homogenized vitamin D, skim, and 2%), iS, iced tea, and POG.
