George Camarillo
George Ellsworth “Keoki” Camarillo of Hilo, died March 24, 2004 at Hilo Medical Center at the age of 52. Born Sept. 14, 1951, in Lihu‘e, he was an employee of the McBryde Sugar Co. on Kaua‘i and also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Friends may call on Saturday, April 17, at Kauai Veteran’s Cemetery pavilion in Hanapepe where a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. followed by a luncheon in the pavilion.
He is survived by his daughter: Shayna Pua O’Lena Camarillo of Waimea, Kaua‘i; son Jason William Camarillo of Kaumakani; hanai daughters Jessica Iwalani Fuller and Salena Lutao, both of Kaumakani; mother: Dora Pauole Camarillo of Lihu‘e; brothers Stephen (Paula) Camarillo of Mililani, O‘ahu; and Archie (Radiant) Camarillo of Wai‘anae, O‘ahu; sisters: Brenda (Rick) Funk of Honolulu, O‘ahu, Carolyn (Norman) Glasco of Wai‘anae, O‘ahu, and Bonnie Ann (Eric) Dela Cruz of Kahului, Maui; and four grandchildren.

Tony Ancheta Ganir
Tony Ancheta Ganir of the Philippines and Kaua‘i died Feb. 13, 2004, in the Philippines at the age of 47.
The proprietor of an auto supplies business and equipment operator for Lihue Plantation, he was born May 9, 1956, in the Philippines.
He is survived by his wife: Trini Ganir of Washington; five sons: Tadd, Kenneth, J.R., Jay Antony and Jestoni Ganir; mother: Filomena Ganir of Wailua; six brothers: Saturnino (Anita) Ganir of Wailua, Alfredo (Regina) Ganir of Wailua, Wayne Ganir of Kona, Justino (Femie) Ganir of Kapa‘a, Tomas (Susan) Ganir of Wailua and Elpidio Ganir of Kona; four sisters Teresita Aguilar of the Philippines, Anastacia Acob of Wailua, Perlita Agtunong of Honolulu, and Josie Johnson of Washington; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Friday, April 16, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, April 17, at Immaculate Conception Church from 8:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Kalapaki Bay Memorial Cemetery.

Helen Katina
Helen Kamakolo Katina of Anahola died April 3, 2004, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 75.
A homemaker, she was born April 25, 1928, in Kohala, Hawai‘i.
Preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Helen Avilla and her daughter Edna Boyd, she is survived by her husband: Malouamaua Katina of Anahola; two sons: David Avilla of O‘ahu and Regino (Wanda) Corpus, Jr. of O‘ahu; three daughters: Lenora Brownlee of Illinois, Rose (Richard) Spragling, Jr. of O‘ahu, and Helen Boyd of Anahola; one son-in-law: Dukie Boyd of O‘ahu; one hanai grandson: Kevin Malo Katina Boyd of Anahola; one brother: Lionel Avilla of Hawai‘i; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one uncle: James Avilla; numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Thursday, April 15, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. where services will be at noon. Burial will follow in Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.

David Agmata Bali
David Agmata Bali of Hanama‘ulu, died March 30, 2004, at Queen’s Medical Center at the age of 73.
A mechanic for Lihu‘e Plantation, he also was a care home owner and foster parent for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gregorio and Juliana Agmata Bali and brothers Abraham “Buddy” Bali and sisters Consuelo “Connie” Cruz and Virginia “Gini” Bali Hermado. He is survived by his wife, Natividad “Naty” Baris Bali of Hanama‘ulu; sister: Rosita “Rose” Bali Boloran of O‘ahu; brothers-in-law: Jaime Boloran and Jose Hernando, both of O‘ahu; one sister-in-law: Peggy Bali of O‘ahu; mother-in-law: Engracia Baris; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family requests that flowers be omitted. Services will be on Friday, April 16, at Immaculate Conception Church from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with Mass at 7 p.m. Friends and family can visit again at 3906 Hoohuki Street in Hanama‘ulu for an overnight vigil with the casket. Funeral services will continue on Saturday, April 17, at 3906 Hoohuki St. from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. with Mass starting at 10 a.m. and burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Antone Palmeira
Antone Palmeira of Wailua Homesteads, died at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital on April 6, 2004, at the age of 76.
Born in Wailua Homesteads, Kaua‘i, on Jan. 26, 1928 he was a Laborer with the state of Hawai‘i.
He is survived by three brothers, Ernest Palmeira, James (Bell) Palmeira and Wally (Polei) Palmeira, all of Wailua Homesteads; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapa‘a on Saturday, April 17, at 9 a.m. Mass will begin at 10 a.m.

Feliciano Ramos
Feliciano Ramos of Kekaha, died at home on April 9, 2004 at the age of 80.
Born in San Esteban, Philippines on June 9, 1923, he was a retired irrigation worker with Kekaha Sugar Plantation.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita; two daughters, Sheanee Ramos of Honolulu and Cleoflins Ramos of Kekaha; three brothers, Ariston Ramos of California, Primitivo Ramos of Hanama‘ulu and Rufino Ramos of the Philippines; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, at the St. Theresa Catholic Church; mass officiated by Father Larry will begin at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kekaha Catholic Cemetery.

Sueo Furumoto
Sueo Furumoto of Kealia, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 9, 2004 at the age of 76.
Born in Kealia, Kaua‘i on Aug. 25, 1927, he was a journeyman mechanic with Hawaiian Canneries & Lihue Plantation.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; three daughters, Alix (Lou) Jourdain of Las Vegas, Colene (Jace) Schaefer of Kealia and Avis (Gerard) Koerte of Hanama‘ulu; three sons, Mark (Tracie) Furumoto of Kealia, Richard (Mandy) Furumoto of Wailua Homestead and Kerry Furumoto of Denver, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 1 great grandchild, two sisters, Momoyo Kasaoka of Honolulu and Sadako Fujiuchi of Kealia; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 17, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service officiated by Rev. Morita will begin at 3 p.m. followed by burial at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Jordan Lee Hammond
Jordan Lee Kalauauala Hammond of Gurley, Ala., died Friday, March 26, 2004, at the age of 44.
A native of Hawai‘i, he had lived in Madison County for the past five years. He was retired from the U.S. Army and employed as a security guard at Huntsville Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred E. Hammond, and is survived by his wife, Tena Hammond; son Timothy Robinson of Huntsville; mother B.J. Hammond, three brothers Robert (Melinda) Hammond, Alfred Hammond, both of Anahola, and Fred Hammond Jr. of O‘ahu; and two sisters: Shanlyn Hammond of Kapa‘a and Ramona Hammond of Las Vegas; two grandchildren: Brooklyn and Emerald Robinson; numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held at Berry Hill funeral home. He was laid to rest at Valhalla Cemetery Gardens in Huntsville, Ala. A get together will be held at the Hammonds’ residence in Anahola at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, for family and friends. For information, call 822-0020.
