Tony Ancheta Ganir of the Philippines and Kaua‘i died Feb. 13, 2004, in the Philippines at the age of 47.
The proprietor of an auto supplies business and equipment operator for Lihue Plantation, he was born May 9, 1956, in the Philippines.
He is survived by his wife: Trini Ganir of Washington; five sons: Tadd, Kenneth, J.R., Jay Antony and Jestoni Ganir; mother: Filomena Ganir of Wailua; six brothers: Saturnino (Anita) Ganir of Wailua, Alfredo (Regina) Ganir of Wailua, Wayne Ganir of Kona, Justino (Femie) Ganir of Kapa‘a, Tomas (Susan) Ganir of Wailua and Elpidio Ganir of Kona; four sisters: Teresita Aguilar of the Philippines, Anastacia Acob of Wailua, Perlita Agtunong of Honolulu, and Josie Johnson of Washington; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Friday, Apil 16, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel from 6 to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, April 17, at Immaculate Conception Church from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Kalapaki Bay Memorial Cemetery.
The family suggests casual attire. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Hatsue Onuma
Hatsue Onuma of Kapa‘a, died at home on April 6, 2004 at the age of 80.
Born in Wailua on Jan. 2, 1924, she was a Sales Clerk with Ben Franklin Stores. She is survived by son, Russell Onuma of Kapa‘a; daughter, JoAnn Harunaga of Wailua; five brothers, Yoneo Hirata of Kapa‘a, Kaoru Hirata of Wisconsin, Makoto Hirata of Oregon, Yutaka Hirata of California and James Hirata of California; sister, Ichiyo Kunichika of Honolulu; numerous nieces and nephews. Services were private.
Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
