Vince Fermin, a worker in the Golf Maintenance Department at Poipu Bay Golf Course, was recently named the course’s 2003 Employee of the Year.
“Vince’s performance on his assigned duties is above reproach,” said his supervisor, Anson Abalos.
“His attention to detail is obvious when he completes any task, big or small. He deserves to be Employee of the Year,” said Abalos.
In addition to being named Employee of the Year, Fermin was Employee of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2003.
Fermin was selected from Poipu Bay’s field of seven Employees of the Quarter for 2003, including: Keiji Haraguchi, Guest Services Department, first quarter; Chad Dusenberry, Golf Shop, and Gabriel Rebb, Guest Services Department, second quarter; Roland “Skip” Santos, Golf Maintenance Department; Tami Nitta, Accounting; and David Kennedy, Golf Shop, third quarter.
Poipu Bay’s employee awards are based on nominations made by department supervisors, commending employees in the areas of attendance, conscientiousness, attitude, efficiency, innovation, guest service and aloha spirit.
