Women wanting to improve their golf game, or enter the sport can attend a free workshop being hosted by the United States Golf Association (USGA) and the Hawai‘i State Women’s Golf Association (HSWGA) this Saturday at the Puakea Golf Course starting at 8:30 a.m.
Applications from junior girl golfers are also being accepted this year.
The clinic, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon, will give an introduction to basic terminology, equipment, etiquette, and rules and scoring.
Much of the morning will be spent with local golf professionals Kellie Pleas, Pat Hunt, and Mathew Mack who will teach the fundamentals of putting, chipping, and driving.
Golfers who already have golf clubs are asked to bring them along to the clinic. Otherwise, clubs will be available.
Application forms and information can be obtained by calling the Puakea golf course at 245-8756, or 245-3498.
