Patricia L. Velez
Patricia L. Velez of Kalaheo died at her home on March 8, at the age of 66.
Born in Makaweli on July 11, 1937, she retired as a janitress with the state of Hawai‘i Hanapepe Public Library.
She is survived by her partner, Tony Barretto of Kapahi; two sons: Lawrence Velez of Lihu‘e and Benny (Leslie) Velez of Kalaheo; two daughters: Linda (Macky) Pimental of Kalaheo and Charlotte Caldeira of Hanapepe; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two brothers: Jerry Lopez and Frank (Gladys) Lopez Jr., both of Hilo; and three sisters: Barbara Silva of Hanapepe; Isabelle (Marcelino) Coyaso and Virginia Lopez, both of Kalaheo.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, March 12, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo where mass will be said at 11 a.m.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.

Jerry P. Machado of Kekaha, died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on March 4, at the age of 69.
Born in Kealia Jan. 29, 1935, he was a retired truck driver with Kekaha Sugar Company.
He is survived by four sons: Floyd G. Machado of Kekaha; Michael A. (Mina) Machado Sr. of Kekaha; Steven W. Machado of ‘Oma‘o; and Chad J.K. (Joy) Machado of Kekaha; daughter, Panny A. Machado of Kekaha; three grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; sister, Elenore (Reginald) Andrade; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Kekaha; service officiated by Father Larry will begin at 9 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Dorothy Morales Martinez
Dorothy Morales Martinez of Kilauea, died at her home on March 7, at the age of 82.
A homemaker, she was born Oct. 14, 1921, in Lihu‘e.
She is survived by two sons: Vicent (Nathalie) Hilongo and Miles Martinez; two daughters: Faith (Jackie) Nakazawa and Regina (David) Hoverson; five sisters: Laura (Clint) Clinton, Sally Peteelli, Dina Camacho, Penny (Ray) Carr, and Tivia Torres; 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; two brothers: Benjamin Torres and Sylvester (Connie) Torres; brothers-in-law, George (Joyce) Martinez and Clifford Jim; and sister-in-law Sophie Martinez; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 13, at Borthwick/Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow in Kauai Memorial Gardens.
