Alyssa Gonsalves
Alyssa Ann Sanoe Makanakealohapuna Gonsalves of Kekaha, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Jan. 31, 2004 at the age of 17.
Born in Lihu‘e on Sept. 20, 1986, she was a hostess and bus person for Plantation Gardens Restaurant in Po‘ipu.
She is survived by her mother, Lisa (Joe) Kali of Kekaha; father, Alan Gonsalves; two brothers, Kamali Kali of Kekaha and Aaron Kaauwai of Washington; grandparents, Damen and Fanny Gonsalves of Lihu‘e, Robert and Henrietta Gonsalves of Wailua, Betty Kali of Wisconsin and Henry (Liz) Kali of Koloa; numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Feb. 7, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 9 to 11:45 a.m. Service to begin at noon. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Tyson Pagador
Tyson Pagador of Koloa, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Jan. 31, 2004 at the age of 22.
Born in Honolulu on April 8, 1981, he was a cook for Plantation Gardens & Resorts.
He is survived by his father, Wesley (Miriam) Pagador; mother, Elizabeth (George) Kawamura; grandparents, Pete Pagador, Loretta Agosto, Avelina Asuncion; four brothers, Brandon Agosto, Shaun Kawamura, Dustin Pagador, Taylor Pagador; two sisters, Tia Kawamura, Kiana Pagador; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Feb. 7, at St. Raphael’s Church from 8 to 10:45 a.m. Service to begin at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at the church cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Angeline Revelina Bristol
Angeline Revelina Bristol, of Puhi, died at home on Jan. 30, 2004 at the age of 54.
Born in Lihu‘e, on May 24, 1949, she was a bank teller and also a retail sales person.
She is survived by her parents, Federico and Revelina “Linda” Bristol; two brothers, C. Warren (Susan) Bristol of Woodenville, Wash. and Rodney (Paula) Bristol of Kapa‘a; sister, Veda Bristol of Lihu‘e; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service has been scheduled at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Kapaa Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Shigeto Yoshida
Shigeto “Skipper” Yoshida of Kalaheo, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Jan. 29, 2004 at the age of 88.
Born in Port Allen, on March 29, 1915, he was a retired manager with A & B Kauai Commercial.
He is survived by his wife, Fumiko; son, Kenneth (Kay) Yoshida of Kealakekua, Hawai‘i; daughter, Pansy Goto of Honolulu, O‘ahu; grandsons, Jon (Candi) Yoshida of California, Dr. Radford Goto of New York, Tyler and Kyle Yoshida of California; brothers, Hisato Yoshida of Shibushi, Japan and Sadao Yoshida of Pearl City, O‘ahu; sister, Kuniye Iwamato of Lawrence, Kans.
Private services were held.
Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Suzanne Hovland
Suzanne Tillson Hovland of Corvallis, Ore., died Tuesday, Dec. 30 at her home at the age of 84.
Born in Evanston, Ill., on June 18, 1919, she served as a liaison for the Peace Churches of the Chicago Council of Churches, and co-directed the American Friends Service Committee Summer Project with the Hoopa tribe in Northern California. She served on the staff of the Children’s Home in Evanston, Ill. She also served as a research assistant at the Art Institute in Chicago and co-founded the Corvallis Readers Theater.
During the Second World War, she worked at the Institute for Psychoanalysis in Chicago and volunteered as a social worker with the Red Cross.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Warren Hovland; her son Jeremy Hovland; her daughter Anne Hovland, son-in-law Calvin Fujimoto; and grandson Kai Hovland.
Leonard Labrador
Leonard Labrador of Koloa, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Feb. 1, 2004 at the age of 53.
Born in Lihu‘e on May 24, 1950 he was a sales representative for Up To Date Cleaners.
He is survived by his wife, Mercy Labrador of Koloa; daughter, Larissa Labrador of Washington; son, Landon Labrador of Oregon; parents, Loren and Lillian Labrador of Florida; brother, Loren (Liz) Labrador of Florida; sister, Dawn (Roy) Boyd of Florida, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at St. Raphael’s Church from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Memorial services to be held at 10 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.

George Kauakahi
George Apache Chokai Kauakahi, 68, died at his home in Kekaha on Jan. 29, 2004.
He is survived by his dear friend of 11 years, Biene Putzier. The mother of his children, his beloved wife, Lisa, passed away 12 years ago. He is survived by their three sons, George C. Tali, Keive Kauakahi, Popeye Kauakahi; and seven beloved grandchildren, Keive II, Sommer, Monica, Chloe, Justin, Tabitha, and Silas Kauakahi. His two living sisters are Lillian Lopez and Mary Jane Ferreira. His four surviving brothers are Francis Kauakahi, Wilfred Edwarte, Charlie Keaweehu and Elvin Kaiakapu. He has numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and ohana. George was deeply loved. He was an accomplished stone carver, musician and master carpenter. He will be greatly missed.
