PUHI — In anticipation of patrons wishing to take advantage of Souper Sunday at Clayworks at Kilohana here, the last of the 150 bowls will be “unloaded” Thursday for the Sunday event.
A benefit for the Kaua’i Food Bank, patrons wishing to take advantage of the triple-win situation can purchase tickets through either Clayworks or the Kaua’i Food Bank for the food-bank fund-raiser that gives patrons a hand-created bowl (not cup) that will be filled with a special soup creation from the Gaylord’s culinary staff for $15.
Patrons get to keep the bowl at this annual Souper Bowl Sunday event. The soup may be enjoyed on property from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., or taken out for enjoying at a Super Bowl party elsewhere.
Bowls of various colors and shapes created by Susan Pittman’s staff and students sit ready on counters and shelves at the studio located on the grounds of the Kilohana Estate in Puhi in anticipation of patrons who will gobble up the soup and enjoy the value of the locally made bowls.
For more information, interested people may call either the Kaua’i Food Bank or Clayworks. Tickets may also be purchased at either facility, or online at www.clayworksatkilohana.com.
