YO-Golf anyone?

The Hawai‘i State Jr. Golf Association (HSJGA) will be presenting a YO-Golf Clinic at Naniloa Country club in Hilo on Saturday, Feb. 28 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The clinic, conducted by LPGA professional Kiyoko Sieradzki, will teach various Yoga techniques and poses to increase flexibility, balance, and strength. The techniques will also enhance mental concentration, relaxation, and focus.

Men, women, and juniors of all fitness levels and golfing skills are welcome. A golf club is used for many of the poses so participants should bring a 5-iron to class.

The cost to HSJGA members (and their family members) is $10 per person with discounts applying to multiple family members. The cost to non-members is $20.

If the minimum class size is not met, the clinic will be cancelled and payments returned.

12 and Under girls

Ashlee Jimenez had seven points to lead Lihu‘e to a 14-13 squeaker over Kilauea on Saturday at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center in the county’s 12 Under girls basketball league.

Jessica Iwata came up with 13 points to lead the Lihu‘e Sparks to a 39-7 showing over Kapa‘a who was led by five points from Ashlynn Lee.

Ashlyn Ubongen and Lynsi Nakamura each finished with eight points as the Lihu‘e Comets took a 43-14 win over Wailua in the day’s final contest, Ubongen firing for the Comets.

12 and Under boys

Scott Taylor posted 15 points to lead Lihu‘e On Fire to a 45-43 edge over Waimea 2nd to None who was led by Brycen Kato posting a game-high 17 points in the county’s 12 Under boys basketball league Saturday at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.

Urijiah Phillips notched 10 points to lead Eastside to a 23-14 win over Wailua who was led by Kauasi Lomu who finished with six points.
