A winter storm expected to dump heavy rain on Kaua’i kept to the east of O’ahu Saturday.
Maui County and Hawai’i County were under flash flood watch Saturday night, while high surf warnings were issued for waters of the Pacific Missile Range Facility and North Shore beaches for Sunday.
The Kaua’i weather forecast now calls for sunny weather today, instead of heavy rain and thundershowers as predicted.
A report in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin on Saturday said sugar cane fields soaked by recent Kona storm rains are holding back Gay & Robinson from replanting about 3,000 acres of cane fields.
Flooded conditions remain at the foot of Koke’e Road in Kekaha, with drivers heading to Koke’e facing almost impassable conditions in a low-lying area of the road.
