After a day of mostly sunny weather, Kaua’i and Ni’ihau are expected to experience more Kona weather with thunderstorms and possible flash floods in areas of Kaua’i.
Drivers were being warned last night to keep an eye out for swollen streams and other flash flood dangers.
Additional flash flood watches may be issue later this weekend.
The National Weather Service’s flash flood warning for Kaua’i was expected to end at 4 a.m. this morning.
Even so, heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to hit Kaua’i today and tomorrow, according to the weather service’s forecast for this weekend.
The forecast for today is for mostly cloudy skies with a chance of heavy showers and thunderstorms.
Highs will be 75 to 80F, with variable winds to 15 mph.
On Saturday night skies are expected to be mostly cloudy with a chance of heavy showers and thunderstorms, with lows 63 to 68F.
On Sunday the forecast is again mostly cloudy with a chance of heavy showers and thunderstorms, with highs 73 to 78.
