The Garden Isle Racing Association released its 2004 Schedule of Events that covers all of the races planned for the year at the Mana Raceway facility.
The complete schedule of both day and night races can be found on page B2.
Boys 12 and Under soccer tryouts
AYSO region 940 announces tryouts for the Boys Under 12 for the upcoming Kirk Banks Soccer Tournament.
Interested boys can try out on Sunday, Jan. 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hanapepe Park located outside the Hanapepe Stadium.

Kaua’i Junior golf registration underway
The Kaua’i Junior Golf Association is now accepting registration for its 2004 season which will begin with lessons starting the week of Mar. 1 and running for six weeks.
Deadline for registration is Feb. 6, 2004, and is open to any child 7 to 18 years of age.
Registration forms can be picked up at any of Kaua’i’s seven golf courses – Princeville, Wailua, Kaua’i Lagoons, Puakea, Kiahuna, Po’ipu Bay, and Kukuiolono.
The forms are also available at each of the neighborhood centers – Kekaha, Waimea, Kaumakani, Hanapepe, Koloa, Lihu’e, Kapa’a, and Kilauea.

2004 UH Softball
HONOLULU – Fans will have their first peek at the 2004 edition of the University of Hawai’i softball team this Saturday, Jan. 24 starting at 5 p.m. when the Rainbow Wahine square off against the UH alumnae at the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.
Admission is free, but parking is $3.
Head coach Bob Coolen, the 2003 Western Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, has six returning starters and his entire pitching staff back, posting all 40 of the club’s wins a year ago.
The program is fresh off its first WAC Championship in 2003, and the program’s second league title (Big West in 1994) in school history.
The 2004 season officially begins on Feb. 4-8 when UH hosts Brigham Young University in the first night of the Hawai’i Paradise Classic.
Yacht Club racing season opener
The Nawiliwili Yacht Club’s 2004 racing season opens on Saturday, Jan. 31 with two races scheduled at Nawiliwili Harbor.
One race will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a second race that starts at 1 p.m.
The public is invited the view the races from the harbor.
A potluck party will immediately follow the second race, and the club invites people to come and find out what events the Nawiliwili Yacht Club has planned for 2004.
