Neri Agpaoa
Neri Agpaoa of Hanama’ulu, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Jan. 16, 2004 at the age of 53.
Born in Pasuquin, Philippines on May 26, 1950, she was a cashier with Marriot Restaurant.
She is survived by husband, Orlando; son, Larry; brother, Cresencio (Elma) Abad of Puhi; sisters, Angelita Baniaga of ‘Ele’ele, Lily (Celestino) Farinas of Las Vegas, Nev.; and Fe Abad of Hanama’ulu.
Friends may visit with the family from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; friends may also visit at 9 a.m. on Friday Jan. 23, at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church; service to begin at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Lihue Cemetery. Casual attire suggested.

Torano Sanekane
Torano Sanekane of Lawa’i, died at home on Jan. 13, 2004 at the age of 106.
Born in Hiroshima, Japan on Aug. 15, 1897, he is survived by three sons, Takeru (Hanayo) Sanekane of Lawa’i, Shuji Sanekane of Lawa’i and Glenn (Jeanette) Sanekane of Kailua, O’ahu; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were private.
Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Michael Souza
Michael Lee Souza of Kapa’a died Jan. 14, 2004, at the age of 36.
A decorated sergeant in the U.S. Air Force Info Services, he was born Oct. 11, 1967, in Lihu’e.
Preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Rudolf Prigge and paternal grandfather William Souza, he is survived by his mother, Nalani Aka Prigge (Robert) Stevenson, father, Duane (Moana) Souza; sister, Marlo Aka Souza (Reno) Alaipalelei; maternal grandmother, Virginia Souza; maternal grandfather, Rudolf Prigge; paternal grandfather, William Souza; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held Friday, Jan. 23, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 9 to 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery at 2 p.m.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kauai Mortuary.
Gimena Sales Baxa
Gimena Sales Baxa, of Honolulu, died Dec. 28, 2003, at the age of 89.
Born in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Ceferino, daughters, Glee (Primo) Cabbat, Verona (Manny) Sales, Adelle (“Dr. Ben”) Galindo, and son Flo (Flordeliza) Baxa; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Wake services and visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Nuuanu Mortuary, Honolulu, with Mass services at Nuuanu Mortuary on Jan. 22 at 9 a.m. Burial to follow at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.

Toshiko Ferreiro
Toshiko “Betsy” N. Ferreiro of Mililani and formerly of Kapa’a, Kaua’i, died Dec. 24, 2003, at the age of 87.
Born in Honolulu on April 12, 1916, she retired from the County of Kaua’i.
She is survived by her son Lawrence (Lydia) Ferreiro; three grandchildren and one great-grandson of Mililani; two brothers, Thomas (Peggy) Nishimitsu of Kapa’a; Kenneth (Yasuko) Nishimitsu of California; two sisters, Doris (Charles) Hoch of Las Vegas, Nev.; Claire (Lloyd) Tanabe of California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held. Arrangements were handled by Borthwick Mortuary on O’ahu.
Francisca Rosare
Francisca Adorable Rosare of Kapolei, died on Dec. 28, 2003, at Ka Punawai Ola, at the age of 67.
Born Jan 29, 1936, in ‘Ele’ele, Kaua’i, she is survived by her husband John Rosare, Sr. of California; sons, John, Jr. of California, Mel of Kapolei and Rodney of California; daughter, Myra Rosare of Hanapepe; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, Andy Dorable of California; sisters, Aurelia Dela Cruz of ‘Ele’ele, Sylvia Kline of California and Isabela Adorable of ‘Ele’ele.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 21, from 9 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church-Makakilo, Mass at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Greenhaven Memorial Park at 1 p.m. Aloha attire is suggested.
