The Kaua’i Red Raiders discovered the long ball that eluded them through the season as they launched four in-the-park homers enroute to taking a 20-4 win over Kapa’a in the first of Saturday’s double-header in Kapa’a.
Stephanie Kawamura went the distance for the Warriors in the loss, but did a steady job on the mound while Kennilyn Nakamura replaced Theresa Taylor behind the plate.
Jenna Mercado, Ashley Nonaka, Randi Oketani, and Ulu Kelekoma each banged the long ball for Kaua’i who picked up the win with Anna Quibilan on the mound.
The second game was called after four innings with Kaua’i on top 36-2, the game carrying all stats, but no credit for win or loss for both team’s pitching staff.
