In observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, on Monday, Jan. 19, many offices and facilities around the island will be closed.
All County of Kaua’i offices will be closed, as well as the Kaua’i Bus, refuse transfer station, Kekaha landfill, Puhi Metals Recycling and Kaua’i Resource Center. Residential refuse pickup will operate as normal. County offices will be open for normal hours on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
All State of Hawai’i offices and the state building will be closed.
The United States Postal Service will not have any delivery services, but items for post office box customers should be available by about 11:30 a.m. Monday. Normal postal service hours will resume Tuesday.
The offices of Kauai Island Utility Cooperative will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Kauai Medical Clinic walk-in will be open, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Kukui Grove Center will operate normal hours, 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m.
Most banks and credit unions will be closed; however, American Savings Bank at Foodland Waipouli will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
