The ninth annual Waimea Lighted Christmas Parade featured nearly 40 floats, and an estimated 5,000 people lining Kaumuali’i Highway.
A special feature of the parade was the town itself, as merchants and residents along the highway went all out to decorate their abodes or places of business for the holiday season.
“The town was unbelievably well decorated,” said Chris Fayé, who lives in Kekaha and runs Gay & Robinson Tours LLC.
Among the special floats in the parade was the annual Ayau family entry, put together by a large family from Waimea Valley and other parts of the Westside.
Pooh Bear rode on the family’s float.
