For hospitality
My husband and I were staying at the Aloha Beach Resort during Thanksgiving .After a day of touring, we returned just before sunset.
My husband had a nap while I took my photography equipment down to the beach to try for sunset pictures. The sun slipped behind clouds so I decided on human interest images instead.
I was just about to take a picture of a mother giving her little boy a shower,he looked so cute ,his eyes were closed tightly and his shoulder were scrunched up to his neck while his mom vigorously scrubbed away . I was just about to snap the shot when mom pulled down his swim trunks to finish washing him. Immediately, I muttered to myself and stepped back without taking the picture when an older man urged me to take the picture because it was so cute. I declined, saying I didn’t want to invade their privacy. We then discussed photography as he had once done black and white photography, and asked me to join his friendly extended family in their Thanksgiving feast!
It was such a neat experience to be treated so kindly by such a great bunch of people. It darkened just as I was finishing the meal so they quickly packed up and I never got a chance to get their names.
I just wanted to express my gratitude for their warm hospitality. Upon my return to our room Tom awoke and was delighted about my happy encounter. We went out for supper and I had dessert just to keep him company!
I remember Sharon who skied at Whistler B.C., a cousin who was out from Toronto and a young man interested in cooking. The older man who befriended me said he and his wife’s hobby was growing orchids. Hopefully these people will recognize themselves by my vague description and know that their hospitality was a highlight of my vacation.
Hopefully we will meet again,
