The Coalition Provisional Authority that runs Iraq has announced its intention to set up its own TV news operation in Baghdad, complete with cameras and two-way satellite capability. That way, proconsul Paul Bremer can bypass the big TV networks and broadcast directly to local stations in the United States and elsewhere.
It’s all about priorities. So far, the CPA hasn’t been able to get Iraq’s power, light, sewage and water systems restored, and has trouble getting funds to U.S. Army rebuilding projects. It’s a good story for Bremer-vision to cover.
