The Lions Club’s plans for hosting the first Hawai’i Lions Club International Youth Camp in the summer of 2004 got a boost from Young Brothers who presented a grant to the organization.
On hand for the presentation were Wayne Mukai and Harvey Kinoshita of the Lions Club, Wendell Kam, Young Brothers Nawiliwili Port Manager, Wanda Shibata and Don Lindsey of the Young Brothers Community Foundation, and Akita. The International Camp, organized by the Lions of Sweden in 1974, brings together young people from around the world to foster friendship and understanding of each unique environment, culture, and socio-economic lifestyles. It has grown to 107 camps held in 39 countries. This will be the first time Kaua’i will host such a camp.
