Tropicars Classic Car Rentals, gaining recognition for renting the “Coolest Cars on Kaua‘i”, recently moved their operation to Hilo Hattie in Lihu‘e.
“We celebrated our second anniversary in November by setting up our new location at Hilo Hattie,” said Allen Huber, Tropicars President. “Our fleet of convertibles and hardtops from the 50’s and 60’s looks great at this location and will get great exposure because everybody comes to Hilo Hattie.
Huber had many interested Kama‘aina at his promotional booth during Wednesday night’s Hilo Hattie “Mahalo” party which had over 400 guests during the two-hour event.
“Everyone at Hilo Hattie has made us feel like part of their Ohana. It’s been wonderful. Our third year of business should be our best yet.”
During Wednesday night’s Mahalo party, Hilo Hattie Store Manager Brad Gipolan discussed the relevance of the Tropicars move from Anchor Cove to its new location.
“It gives us (Hilo Hattie) added value,” said Gipolan. “It is another attraction for our customers.”
Hilo Hattie Assistant Store Manager Laurie Chow concurred with Gipolan.
“It will be a benefit for us and them.”
According to Huber, the desire to offer the best possible rental experience drew Tropicars to Hilo Hattie.
“Both of our companies recognize that when you offer great products and treat your customers as family, success will follow,” said Barbara Huber, Tropicars Controller, who is also Allen’s wife.
Tropicars rental fleet includes the largest luxury convertibles available for rent on the island; two beautiful ‘66 Ford Galaxie 500 convertibles and a sporty ‘66 Ford Fairlane convertible with a cinnamon metallic paint job with flames.
They also offer two of the coolest hardtops anywhere; a beautiful tropical-blue ‘66 Ford Mustang, newly rebuilt with a high performance 302 V-8 engine; and a stunning robins-egg blue ‘58 Ford Custom 300 Town Sedan, which recently carried Mayor Baptiste and his family in the Lihue Lights on Rice Parade.
Tropicars offers a “premier rental car experience based on the spirit of Aloha.”
Huber added, “Our customers tell us every day that renting one of our cars was the best vacation decision that they ever made. We love to hear it, and we strive to offer that experience to every renter.”
To ensure that each customer has the best vacation possible, Tropicars has written the “Tropicars Guide to Kauai” which is given free with every rental.
The guide offers suggestions for shopping, dining, and activities, and driving directions to many of the best spots on the island.
“We learned from our many visits that there is so much more to Kaua‘i then we had ever imagined or had been directed to explore,” said Barbara Huber.
“We decided to help visitors live their tropic island fantasies.”
Tropicars takes great pride in what they do and offers their customers many reasons to return to the beautiful garden island of Kaua‘i.
High standards may be why Tropicars receives rave reviews from its cruise ship and resort customers.
These high standards start with mechanical maintenance. Tropicars has had no mechanical breakdowns in its fleet in two years of business.
Recently, a Tropicars customer visiting Kaua‘i on a cruise ship actually rescued several fellow passengers when their airport rental car broke down along the road.
They were thrilled to be rescued and get to cruise the island in a beautiful classic car, with the added bonus of now having suggestions about where to go and what to do.
Huber said, “They were so happy at the end of day that they asked to make reservations for their next vacation, two years from now. Everyone loves having a tropical adventure with Tropicars.”
