The Kaua’i Community College Christmas A-Fair is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the KCC campus center.
This popular “a-fair” is a partnership between the community, local artists and vendors and KCC.
One of the unique gifts people will be able to purchase for their friends and family is the KCC gift certificate that can be used toward paying for tuition credit hours at the junior college. This is the first time gift certificates have been offered for tuition, and can be purchased Saturday at the craft fair and thereafter at the business office, in any denomination.
“It’s the perfect gift,” said Phyllis Vidinha, KCC accountant, “Grandmas and family members buy them for their students … because they might not know what else to get.”
Members of several clubs will also hold a car wash. Chili and rice and drinks will also be available, and children can make their own crafts, for a nominal fee, while adults shop.
Vendors will be selling locally-made products like aromatherapy teddy bears, angel ornaments, ID and glasses holders, dishtowels, aprons, tissue box holders, blankets, koa wood items, glass terra cotta wood planters, yarn and ribbon leis, appliqued shirts and dresses, water bottle carriers, Christmas pins and ornaments, greeting cards, towel wraps with tropical print borders, handmade jewelry, neck coolers and sachets, framed magnets, crocheted scrubbers, seed lei and ‘ukulele.
