Congressman Ed Case of Hawai‘i appeared at the parade. Case has just recently returned from a congressional tour of Iraq where he met with servicepeople from Hawai‘i and other states who will one day be the latest wave of veterans in the islands.
The annual Veterans Day service is scheduled to take place Tuesday, Nov. 11 starting at 11 a.m. at the Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery.
Santa Claus made an early appearance at the parade, and announced the winner of a new pick-up truck given away as part of a Kauai Veterans Council drawing.
