Second Arbor Day tree distribution is today at Kukui Grove

Lots of people showed up at the state Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Forestry and Wildlife arboretum in Lihu‘e Friday to purchase some native plants, including some of the endangered variety, during the annual Arbor Day sale.

Some other native plants will be given away free today, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., on a first-come, first-served basis in the parking lot of Kukui Grove Center between Macy’s and Burger King, in another Arbor Day event.

Kauai Nursery & Landscaping officials grew the plants to be given away today, and will be on hand to offer some soil and planting tips.
