Aloha Section hosts 2003 Prince Resorts Hawai‘i Open
Honolulu — The best of the best in Hawai‘i golf will meet at Hapuna Golf Course at the Mauna Kea Resort in Kohala on the Big Island, to compete in the 2003 Prince Resorts Hawaii State Open.
The tournament takes place from Nov. 13 to 16, and one professional golfer will take home $6,000. This year’s combined purse is $50,000.
All those that gained entry into the tournament had to be rated as top players in 2003 tournaments, past amateurs, champions and overall based upon points.
The Hawaii State Open was founded in 1974 as a revival of the original Hawaiian Open, historically set at the Waialae Country Club as the year’s last stop on the PGA Tour. It was taken over by Aloha Section PGA in 1993. A women’s division was added in 1977. For more information, check out the Web site at http://aloha.pga.com.
