Florencio Delos Santos Sr.
Florencio Delos Santos Sr. of Hanapepe, died at Kauai Care Center on November 1, 2003 at the age of 97.
Born in Las Pinas, Rizal, PI on Nov. 10, 1906, he was a Master Sergeant with the U.S. Army.
He is survived by wife, Trinidad B. Delos Santos of Hanapepe; three sons, Florencio Delos Santos, Jr. of Manila, PI, George Delos Santos of Las Vegas, NV and Eddie Delos Santos of Las Vegas, NV.; three daughters, Caridad S. Guinto of San Diego, CA., Josephine S. Althaus of Jeffersonville, Indiana and Virginia “Gigi” Delos Santos of Hanapepe; 25 grandchildren; numerous nieces.
Friends may visit with the family from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo; Mass officiated by Father Nap will begin at 1 p.m. Followed by burial at the Kauai Veterans cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Keo Kaauwai
Keo Kalaniopuu Kaauwai of Wailuku, Maui, died on November 2, 2003 at Maui Memorial Hospital Center at the age of 17.
Born in Lihu‘e on June 8, 1986 he was a bus boy with Blue Marlin Restaurant.
He is survived by his parents, John K. and Mayla Kaauwai of Wailuku; two brothers, Kaluna Kaauwai and Keoni Kaauwai both of Wailuku; one sister, Kuuipo Kaauwai of Wailuku; grandmother, Lily Filomino of Olinda.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 5-9 p.m. at the Ballard Family Mortuary in Kahului. Where service will begin at 7 p.m. Casual attire is suggested, flowers omitted, but leis are welcome.
Arrangements are being handled by Ballard Family Mortuary.
Roger Jones
Roger Jones of Koloa, died at his residence on Nov. 1, 2003, at the age of 70.
He was born in Canada and studied the culinary arts in Europe.
Chef Jones received the famous “Toque Noir” (Chef’s Black Hat) that has been awarded by the Paris Escoffier Club to only 15 chefs worldwide for culinary excellence.
His creative continental delicacies were renowned at establishments like the Ritz in London, George V in Paris, the Bahama Country Club in Nassau, Brentwood Country Club in Beverly Hills, Rams Hill Country Club in Borrego Springs, and the Little America Hotels and Resorts in Wyoming, Utah, Sun Valley, Flagstaff and San Diego.
He is survived by his wife; June Muraoka-Jones, two sons; Andre and Marc, three daughters: Lillianne, Louise and Charmaine, three brothers; Normand, Robert and Jacques and one sister; Claudette.
There are seven grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Frank Silva Jr.
Frank Silva Jr. of Kaua‘i and Mesquite, NV, died in Kekaha on Oct. 31, 2003 at the age of 79.
Born in Kealia, Kaua‘i on April 25, 1924, he was formerly a maintenance supervisor with the State of Hawaii, Airport Division. He is survived by wife, Barbara Rose Silva of Mesquite, NV.; two sons, Johnathan (Charlene) Silva of Kapa‘a and Clayton Silva of Lihu‘e; four daughters, Yvonne (Mark) Mock of Marysville, CA., Judith (Colin) McCloud of Chico, CA., Veronica (Mark) Pagnoptta of Waianae, O‘ahu and Brenda (Daryl Martin) Melchor of Waimea; 27 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Alfred Silva of Kapa‘a; four sisters, Tina Garcia of Waimea, Emily Rapozo of Kapa‘a, Virginia Rosa of Kapa‘a and Josephine Chansky of Kapa‘a; four step-sons, Teddy Medeiros of Idaho, Randy J. Medeiros of Ewa Beach, O‘ahu, Philip (P.J.) Medeiros of Kapaa and Wayne J. Medeiros of Las Vegas, NV; two step-daughters, Francine Medeiros (Armando) Corona of Hanapepe and Julie A. (Michael Sr.,) Bonachita of Hanapepe. Friends may visit with the family from 9-11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; mass officiated by Father Larry will begin at 11 a.m. Followed by burial the Kauai Memorial Gardens at 12 noon. Casual attire is suggested.
