Sunday, Nov. 2 is the Old Koloa Sugar Mill 5K and 10K Walk/Run. The course starts at Anne Knudsen Park in Koloa via the bypass road to the sugar mill and back, starting at 7:30 a.m. sharp.
“This is an event for everyone. You can walk or run, choose the 5K or 10K course, participate competitively or at your own pace. It’s a beautiful course and a great way to get your exercise and support a good cause,” said Race Director Pam Kruse, of Fit Bodies.
Proceeds from the race go to the Wilcox Health Foundation toward its health and wellness programs.
All participants will receive a free T-shirt and are invited to a benefit breakfast after the race. Family and friends may attend the breakfast and awards ceremony for $5.
Albert Genozia’s band “Vicious Styles Hawaii” will play. Door prize drawings will be awarded for massages, dinners, athletic gear, outdoor activities and more. Awards will go to overall male and female finishers, and medals will go to age group winners.

Additional T-shirts may be purchased as well as prize tickets to win a round-trip neighbor island getaway for two. This year’s shirt features “The Old Koloa Sugar Mill,” a watercolor created expressly for the event by by local artist Helen Mehl.
Registered participants can pick up a race packet at Wilcox Memorial Hospital Conference Room A Friday, Oct. 31 from 4 – 6 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 1, 8 a.m. – noon. No race day registration or packet pick up will be allowed. Pre-registration is encouraged, but race day applications will be accepted from 6:30 a.m. – 7:15 a.m.
