Little League 2003 applications still available
Kawaihau Community Little League will accept registrations for introduction to baseball and t-ball divisions for 2003, for ages 5 – 8, until Friday, Oct. 24. Registration forms are available at Whaler’s General Store in Anahola, Pono Market, Rosa’s Supply and The Boys and Girls Club of Kapa‘a. For more information, call Philip Hoscon at 652-5816.
Help Special Olympians, win a trip to Vegas
Special Olympians this year need help getting to O‘ahu to compete in the Special Olympics.
A benefit run has been scheduled for Nov. 9 at Kukui Grove Pavilion. Everyone in the community is invited to participate, whether it’s using a bike, hotrod or other mode of transportation.
Sign-ins will be at 9 a.m., and leaving at 10 a.m. There will be food and music, and a silent auction will be held at about 2:30 p.m. featuring the main prize of a round trip to Las Vegas. Get your tickets for 2003 Grand Slam of Golf
PO‘IPU — Tickets are available for the 2003 PGA Grand Slam of Golf at the Poipu Bay Golf Course with the final championship round taking place on Saturday, Dec. 6, unlike the mid-week dates of past years.
First round play starts Friday, Dec. 5. The competition round will be preceded with the Pro Am tournament Wednesday, Dec. 4.
Ticket prices are $10 for the Pro Am, $20 for first round play and $20 for final round play, or $40 for tickets for all three days.
This year’s competitors are 2003 Masters champion Mike Weir, U.S. Open champion Jim Furyk, British Open champion Ben Curtis and 2003 PGA Championship winner Shaun Micheel. Never before have four first-time major champions competed in the event. This is also the 10th consecutive year that the tournament has been hosted by the Poipu Bay Golf Course and the Hyatt Regency Kaua‘i Resort and Spa.
