HONOLULU — The Hawai‘i Visitors and Convention Bureau will celebrate “100 Years of Aloha” at its 2003 annual luncheon on Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 11:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Coral Ballroom of the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa.
The theme for this year’s luncheon is “Pupukahi I holomua,” or “Unite in order to progress,” which symbolizes how HVCB is continuing to help shape the growth and success of Hawai‘i’s visitor industry. The luncheon will include a retrospective of HVCB’s century of service to Hawai‘i and its people.
HVCB will also present Maile Awards to a select group of recipients who have made significant contributions to advancing tourism and the quality of life for Hawai‘i.
It is the highest honor presented by the HVCB to an individual or organization.
In 1902, the Chamber of Commerce and Merchants Association formed a joint committee on tourism.
