James Lamanna, Jr.
James Joseph Lamanna, Jr., of Kapa‘a, died at his residence on Sept. 20, 2003 at the age of 60.
Born in Michigan on April 11, 1943, he was a proprietor for his own cleaning and power washing business.
He is survived by three sons, James Lamanna of Maui, Daniel Lamanna of Kapa‘a and Aaron Lamanna of Kapa‘a.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the Kapa‘a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Kenso Takanishi
Kenso Takanishi of ‘Ele‘ele, Kaua‘i, died at home on Sept. 29, 2003 at the age of 75.
Born in Hukipo Mauka (Kekaha), Kaua‘i, on Sept. 17, 1928, he was a retired State worker.
He is survived by wife, Lillian K. Takanishi of ‘Ele‘ele; two daughters, Kendra (Glenn Y. Kawamura) Takanishi of Kalaheo and Kendace (Franklin Taylor) Takanishi of Los Angeles, Calif.; two brothers, Kazuo (Misae) Takanishi and Danny Morito (Florence) Takanishi Sr., both of Honolulu; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Hanapepe United Church of Christ; service officiated by Rev. Diane Koyama will begin at 4 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
