Yookichi Honma, of Kaumakani, Kaua‘i, died at Kauai Veterans Mem. Hosp. on Sept. 12, 2003 at the age of 79. Born in Makaweli, Kaua‘i on Jan. 2, 1924, he was a Mechanic with Olokele Sugar Co.
He is survived by wife, Ayako of Kaumakani; son, Wade K. Honma of Honolulu, O‘ahu; daughter Karen T. Honma of Honolulu; two brothers, Hiroshi (Sadie) Honma of Kailua, O‘ahu and Alan K. (Ruth) Honma of Pearl City, Oahu; two sisters, Grace (Sekio) Date of Waimea, Kauai and Rin Sakoda of Eleele, Kauai; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Services were private.
Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
