Doris Coppola
Doris Rita Coppola of Wailua, died at her residence on Sept. 15, 2003 at the age of 83.
Born in Massachusetts on November 6, 1919, she was a clerk for the I.R.S.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Coppola of Wailua and grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, Sept. 18 at St. Catherine’s Church from 1:30 p.m. where mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. by Father Jim. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
William Tabe
William Mitsuo Tabe of Waimea, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Sept. 9, 2003 at the age of 69.
Born in Ewa, Hawai‘i, he was a Senior Master Sergeant with the 150th AC & W Squadron, Kokee, Kaua‘i.
Preceded in death by brother, Kenneth Tsugio and sister, Ichiko Hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Toyoko Tabe of Waimea; son, Bryant Tabe of Waimea; three daughters, Faith (Gary) Soto of Kalaheo, Vera (Scott Ebesu) Tabe of Lihu‘e and Blanche Tabe of New York; three grandchildren; brothers, Albert Kazuo Tabe of Waipahu, O‘ahu and Richard Yoshio (Frances) Tabe of Mililani, O‘ahu; sister-in-law, Violet Tabe of Mililani, O‘ahu; brother-in-law, Earl Hunter; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were private. Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Ralph Soto
Raphael “Coach Ralph” A. Soto of Hanapepe, died Sept. 14, 2003, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 58.
Born Sept. 8, 1945, he was employed by Kauai Surf and Kauai Lagoons.
Preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Lovina Soto and brother Robert “Bobby” Rita, he is survived by his wife; Bernadette “Bernie” Soto of Hanapepe; two sons: Dale (Serena) Soto of Kalaheo and Randy (Brenda) Soto of Kekaha; one daughter: Sherry (Stanley) Farias of Hanapepe; two sisters: Hilda (Anthony) Lazaro of Kekaha and Cecilia Lazaro of Kekaha; four brothers: Tommy (Lynn) Rita of Kalaheo, Albert Soto of Hanapepe, Dennis (Ginny) Soto of ‘Ele‘ele; Mervin (Cindy) Soto of Hanapepe; his father and mother-in-law: Joseph and Frances Freitas of Kalaheo; six grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Friday, Sept. 19, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo from noon to 1:45 p.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kauai Mortuary.
Yoshitaka “Taka” Eguchi
Yoshitaka “Taka” Eguchi of Kekaha, died Sept. 15, 2003, at the age of 80.
Born July 5, 1923, in Waimea, he was retired from Kekaha Sugar Co.
He is survived by his wife Shigeko Eguchi; sons, Dennis Y. (Patricia) Eguchi of Kekaha, and Zadoc Y. Eguchi of Kekaha; daughter Tessie Y. (Daven) Hall of Ridgefield, Wash.; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brothers, Kazumi Eguchi of California and Fumio Eguchi of Florida; sister, Terue Hiramoto of Honolulu. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Garden Island Mortuary. Service begins at 4 p.m.
