James Tamura
James Chikara Tamura of Kapa‘a, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Sept. 7, 2003 at the age of 68.
Born in Kilauea, Kaua‘i on Nov. 25, 1934, he was a minister with Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.
He is survived by five brothers, Misao Tamura of Kilauea, Alan Yoshio Tamura of Honolulu, Toshisada Tamura of Honolulu, Henry Uichi Tamura of Kapa‘a, and Richard Tamura of Cooperville, WA; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Kapa‘a; service officiated by Robert Kawasaki will begin at 2 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Gordon Kaluahine Jr.
Gordon Maikai Kaluahine, Jr. of Lihu‘e, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Sept. 10, 2003 at the age of 47.
Born in Lihu‘e on May 9, 1956, he was a caregiver.
He is survived by his wife, Terisita “Teri” Kaluahine; two sons, Isaac Kaluahine and Aaron “Kamu” Kaluahine; hanai son, Kalani; mother, Cha Cha Kaluahine; sister, Gordean Kaluahine; four brothers, Joel “Kala” (Richelle) Kaluahine, Fredstan (Bonnie) Kaluahine, Ty (Maxine) Kaluahine, Clyde (Desiree) Kaluahine; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, September 20 at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 9 – 9:45 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Lihu‘e Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Dominga Navarro
Dominga A. Navarro of Lihu‘e, died at Queen’s Hospital on Sept. 2, 2003 at the age of 72.
Born in Kaua‘i on April 19, 1931, she is survived by husband, Ivan J. Navarro of Lihu‘e; two sons, Lawrence Damasco of Maui and Melvin M. Damasco of Kaua‘i; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Salvador Ambrocio of Waipahu, O‘ahu; sister Martha Domingo of Pearl City, O‘ahu; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service officiated by Father Rene Biseillon will begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.

Reverend Sinaipa Langi
Reverend Sinaipa Langi, 49 of Wailua, Kaua‘i, died Sept. 11, 2003 at the home of his sister, Louhuni Tuihalafatai, in Waialua, O‘ahu, at the age of 49.
Born in Tonga on Nov. 20, 1953, he was a United Methodist minister serving as the Associate Pastor of Lihue United Church.
He is survived by his wife, Otusia Langi; sons, Nathaniel “Daniel” and Simione “Simi” Langi; daughters, Heulupe “Lupe” and Matilda “Tilda” Langi; mother, Mele Langi; brothers, Pau (Leseli) Langi of Kauai, Fatani (Monuia) Langi of Tonga, Valeti (Uila) Langi of Kaua‘i, Noa (Ileini) of Los Angeles; sisers, Selomiti (Sikota) Soakai of Honolulu, Lokeli (Suli) Liavaa of Tonga, Kato (Fonise) Makisi of Honolulu, Louisa (Faleosi) Tiueti of San Francisco, Louhuni (Pulileka) Tuihalafatai of Honolulu, and Lesieli (Stanley) Domingo of Kaua‘i.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Sept. 19, 5 – 7 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 1020 S. Beretania St., in Honolulu, where service will begin at 7 p.m.; and again on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Lihue United Church from noon – 2 p.m. where service will begin at 2 p.m. Both services will be officiated by the Rev. Wesley Elmore and Rev. Manako Kemoe‘atu. Burial to follow at Lihue Public Cemetery.

Ralph Soto
Raphael “Coach Ralph” A. Soto of Hanapepe, died Sept. 14, 2003, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 58.
Born Sept. 8, 1945, he was employed by Kauai Surf and Kauai Lagoons.
Preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Lovina Soto and brother Robert “Bobby” Rita, he is survived by his wife; Bernadette “Bernie” Soto of Hanapepe; two sons: Dale (Serena) Soto of Kalaheo and Randy (Brenda) Soto of Kekaha; one daughter: Sherry (Stanley) Farias of Hanapepe; two sisters: Hilda (Anthony) Lazaro of Kekaha and Cecilia Lazaro of Kekaha; four brothers: Tommy (Lynn) Rita of Kalaheo, Albert Soto of Hanapepe, Dennis (Ginny) Soto of ‘Ele‘ele; Mervin (Cindy) Soto of Hanapepe; his father and mother-in-law: Joseph and Frances Freitas of Kalaheo; six grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Friday, Sept. 19, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo from noon – 1:45 p.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
