A Hard Knocks error proved costly as the Custom Limo capitalized on the miscue to edge past the Knocks 9 – 8 in the H.G.E.A. softball series played Thursday night at Isenberg Field.
The Hard Knocks outhit Custom Limo 14 – 12 with Dan Fort, Bobby Texeira and Mark Ofisa each driving in an RBI on a pair of singles in the losing effort.
Derek Rapozo led the Limo bats with three RBI scoing on a homerun and a single with Sia Salausa also driving in three RBI on a double and a pair of singles.
Scott Kouchi had an RBI on a homer and a single with Sam Dias rounding out the hitting leaders with a pair of singles.
Didi Ibia picked up the win for Custom Limo with 14 hits allowed on one walk and no strikeouts while Corey Rego suffered the loss with a dozen hits allowed on four walks with no strikeouts.
Hana Hou 20, Nogi’s 8
Kyle Nakagawa gave up two dozen hits on four walks as Hana Hou took a 20 – 8 win over Nogi’s with Jon Takamura driving in the winning run, Takamura finishing the night with a pair of RBI on three singles.
Larry Ephan drove in four RBI on a homerun, a double and a single, and Paris Resinto followed with three RBI on three singles. Richard Rosa and Al Santella each drove in a run on a pair of singles, and Brenn Nakaahiki may not have had any RBI, but finished with a double and three singles in the outing.
Reid Tanita, finishing with three singles, led Nogi’s with an RBI along with Antone Bolocan who had an RBI on a pair of singles. Alton Amimoto and Marvin Mikasa each finished with a pair of singles each.
Nakaahiki picked up the win for Hana Hou with 16 hits allowed on no walks or strikeouts.
Rainbow Sports 15, KFD 6
Norman Holt, Jr. drove in the winning run as Rainbow Sports surged past KFD 15 – 6.
KFD, who finished the night with 14 hits to Rainbow’s 16, was led by Kevin Souza who finished with a triple and a single followed by Clinton Fujii and Mike Scovel who each whacked a pair of singles.
Wendell Nonaka drive in three RBI on three doubles to lead the Rainbow Sports’ bats followed by Lance Nakata who drove in three RBI on three singles, and Tyrus Matsumoto who finished with three RBI on a single.
Royce Ijima drove in an RBI on a pair of singles. Mike Shimatsu finished with a pair of singles along with Lenny Nitta in the win.
Lance Nakata picked up the win on the hill with 14 hits allowed on one walk and no strikeouts while Gregg Morishige was strapped with the loss for KFD.
