On Monday September 1, in observance of Labor Day, banks, schools, state and county buildings, libraries, the Refuse Transfer Stations located in Hanalei, Kapa’a, Lihu’e and Hanapepe, will be closed, as well as the Kekaha landill, Kaua’i Resource Center and Puhi Metals Recycling.
Regular garbage collection services for household and businesses will continue on their usual Monday schedule. Most retail stores, including supermarkets, will be open.
Kauai Humane Society will be closed Saturday, Sunday, and Monday in observance of Labor Day.
Also, there will be no Kauai Bus on Monday, and the Garden Island offices will be closed as well.
