Lt. Gov. James R. “Duke” Aiona Jr. leads a talk-story session on the island and state’s drug problem Tuesday, Sept. 2, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School in Puhi.
He will outline the state’s drug-control strategy, receive comments, and answer questions from the community.
Information gathered from this session and similar gatherings held across the state will be reported during the Hawai‘i Drug Control Strategy: A New Beginning summit that Aiona will convene Monday through Wednesday, Sept. 15 to 17, in Honolulu.
Gov. Linda Lingle will hold her talk-story session at the Puhi school’s cafeteria from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
The Kaua‘i gatherings are part of a series of talk-story sessions Lingle and Aiona are holding statewide, to hear what’s on the minds of residents.
