Kaua‘i High School’s Weston Victorino (22) tries to shake off the El Camino Real defender on a short first half gain on the ground last week. Kaua‘i will host Punahou, who, despite losing 22-7 to Kailua (5th place), finished tied for 10th place with Maui High in the HSN Top Ten Poll released on Monday, Aug. 25.
That game will start at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Vidinha Stadium. Kamehameha, who took the top spot in the HSN Top Ten Poll, will take on the Kapa‘a Warriors on Saturday night starting at 7:30 at Vidinha. Kapa‘a, who took their contest over the Bulldogs, tied for 24th place with Hawai‘i Prep in the Poll. Waimea High School, who draws a bye until their game against Woodbridge of California on Sept. 6, finished in the seventh slot of the HSN Top Ten Poll.
Kaua‘i High School did not receive any votes. Both games will be broadcast live by Joel Pahukula on KONG Am570 starting after the 7 p.m. news.
