Takano Nonaka of Hanapepe, died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on Aug. 14, 2003 at the age of 99.
Born in Yame, Fukuoka, Japan on July 13, 1904, she was a farmer.
She is survived by five sons, Hideo (Fujiko) Nonaka of Hanapepe, Masa (Yukie) Nonaka of Lawai, Iwao of Hanapepe, Frank (Pearl) Nonaka of Hanapepe and Paul Nonaka of Missouri; two daughters, Helen (Tokio) Uyeno of Lihu‘e and Clara (Charles) McCollum of Oklahoma; son-in-law, Norman Inoue of Kalaheo; daughter-in-law, Fumie Nonaka of Honolulu; 33 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service to begin at 3 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
