U.S.D.A. Select tops at state tennis
The Kaua‘i men’s 4.0 team, the U.S.D.A. Select, won in their division, beating out the O‘ahu team at the Lincoln-sponsored USA League tennis play on Maui.
Kaua‘i’s women’s 3.5 team placed second in their division, narrowly losing to Oahu’s B team.
The U.S.D.A. Select team will be advancing to the Nationals, which will be held Oct. 9-12 in Palm Springs, Fla.
USA League Tennis is the largest adult recreational tennis league in the world, and the weekend’s tournament on Maui featured over 700 players from around the state.
Hanalei Canoe Club celebrates 30 years
Hanalei Canoe Club will be celebrating their 30th anniversary with a lu‘au fundraiser this Saturday, Aug. 23 at the Hanalei Canoe Clubhouse starting at 4 p.m.
Advance tickets are $20 for adults ($25 at gate), and $10 for Children 12 and under.
Tickets are available at Kai Kane, Hanalei Liquor Store, and the Hanalei Surf Co.
