Tsuyako Urabe of Kapaa, Kauai, died at Wilcox Mem. Hosp. on Aug. 11, 2003 at the age of 94. Born in Koloa, Kauai on May 5, 1909, she was a Sales Clerk with Kawakami’s. She is survived by son, Theodore (Jean) Urabe of Gardenia, CA.; daughter, Janet (Wilfred) Kimura of Kapaa, Kauai; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Yasuo Moribe of Kapaa, Kauai. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Services were private.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
James Okamura
James Takio Okamura of Honolulu, O‘ahu, and formerly of Kaua‘i, died July 19, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Liliha, at the age of 91.
Born March 12, 1912, in Koloa, Kaua‘i, he was a retired teacher, coach and principal at schools on Kaua‘i and O‘ahu and retired director of facilities for the State of Hawaii, Department of Education. He was also a member of the Waioli Lions Club.
He is survived by daughters: Linda (Seiji) Kodama and Gail L. Okamura, both of Honolulu; brother: Paul Okamura of Kalaheo, Kaua‘i; sisters: Dora Yamaguchi of Kealia, Kauai and Fumiko (Sadami) Morisato of Honolulu; numerous nephews and nieces.
Services were private. Donations in his memory may be made to the Koloa Union Church, P.O. Box 536, Koloa HI 96756 or Waioli Lions Club, P .O. Box 62086, Honolulu, HI 96839.
