Erwin Wright, a Waimea High School Volleyball Team Booster parent said, “This is the only known preseason tournament that will bring together all of the favorites from each of the leagues.”
Wright is referring to the Waimea High School Invitational Volleyball Tournament that begins this morning, Thursday, at the Clem Gomes Gym at 9 a.m.
Ten teams from each of the leagues in the state will be represented, including three from the KIF, three from the ILH, two from the BIIF, and one each from the OIA and the MIL.
The ten teams will field 14 teams on the court starting at 9 a.m. each day.
Iolani, the favored team in the ILH will be in action along with Pearl City, the favored team from the OIA.
Waiakea, the BIIF favorite will be joined by Kamehameha-Hilo. Seabury is the MIL favorite with Waimea getting the KIF nod.
Other teams in action include Damien and Hawai‘i Baptist from the ILH, Kapa‘a and Kaua‘i from the KIF.
