Cody Rapozo, 9, takes Nitro Truck at G.I. R/C races
Nine-year-old Cody Rapozo captured the top slot of the Nitro Truck “B” at the latest Garden Isle R/C Racers off-road event held August 10 in Wailua.
Reggie Aribon captured the top slot of the Nitro Truck “A” class with Dennis Ginez claiming top qualifier honors.
Dennis Bueno took the Monster Truck division with his t-maxx.
Other Nitro “A” finishers included Ginez, Wendell Esposo, Dennis Morales, Billy O‘Rourke, Rory Salvatore, and Arnold Morales.
“Nitro Truck “B” finishers included Earl Balai, Mackie Silva, Craig Arzadon, Seth Morales, Roy Higa, and Sheldon Soto.
Monster Truck finishers included Chris Cardenas and Craig Arzadon.
The next race will be on August 24 at the Big K-mart parking lot starting at 11 a.m.

NSSA first surf meet set for Aug. 23-24 at PK’s
The National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) will be presenting their first surf contest of the new season at Prince Kuhio (P.K.’s) in Poipu on August 23 and 24.
Hawai‘i’s best amateur surfers will be there from around the state to compete for single star qualifying points.
Interested surfers and body boarders may pick up entries at Hanalei Surf Co., Progressive Expressions in Koloa, and at Nukumoi Surf Co. in Poipu.
Entries must be mailed before August 20.
